What parents can ask this month
Parents do not need a technical policy brief to ask useful questions. They need a clear path for reporting problems and a clear explanation of what happens next.
Five questions
- Does the school track where students say products came from?
- Is there a reporting pathway for suspected sellers?
- Are online and peer sources separated from retail sources?
- Are parents told what enforcement agency handles each issue?
- Will Alberta publish aggregate results after the first semester?
Why it matters
Health Canada identifies peer pressure as one reason young people start vaping and provides youth prevention resources through Consider the Consequences of Vaping. A parent response should follow the source, not just the headline.
